Prudent Parenting emergency WAC changes

The “Prudent Parenting” bill (ESSB 6479) was passed during the 2014 legislative session and signed into law by Governor Inslee in March. The law becomes effective today, June 12, 2014. This bill gives caregivers the authority to give permission for children and youth in their care to participate in extracurricular, enrichment and social activities without the prior approval of the CA worker.

The Division of Licensed Resources has made emergency changes to the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) to ensure compliance with this law. Please read the attached memo from Darcey Hancock, DLR Administrator regarding the WAC changes.
